TRANSACT Tech New York City brought together over 200 industry leaders from across the payments technology ecosystem for a one-day agenda filled with discussions on next-generation authentication, biometrics and frictionless commerce. The event, presented in partnership with the International Biometrics + Identity Association and sponsored by American Express and Loeb and Loeb LLP, was held at the American Express tower in Manhattan last week.

After opening remarks from ETA CEO Jason Oxman, American Express SVP of AMEX Digital Labs Luke Gebb gave an opening keynote, followed by a morning panels discussion about the future of seamless authentication methods that utilize biometrics and artificial intelligence.

The afternoon sessions included a panel discussion on how new payment methods and point-of-sale innovations have changed the way payments technology companies, merchants and consumers approach data security. Local NYC merchants also took the stage in the afternoon to discuss the ways that the payments technology industry can adapt and build upon their current systems to create frictionless and secure consumer experiences. And after a panel from leading venture capitalists, Michael DeSimone, CEO of ShopKeep, gave the closing keynote in a fireside chat with ETA CEO Jason Oxman.

ETA runs a series of one-day TRANSACT Tech events to bring leading-edge banking, retail and FinTech companies together with innovative startups and venture capitalists. Upcoming events include TRANSACT Tech New York City, TRANSACT Tech Atlanta, TRANSACT Tech Washington D.C. and TRANSACT Tech San Francisco.

The conversation on biometrics and next-generation authentication won’t stop at TTNYC. TRANSACT will feature a Biometrics + Identity Zone on show floor so attendees can build partnerships with the biometrics industry. Learn more about the zone here.
