Photo Coverage: ETA Hosts Lunch and Learn on Contactless Payments at Visa Innovation Station in DC

The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) hosted a Lunch and Learn session on contactless payments technology at ETA member Visa’s interactive Innovation Station in downtown Washington, D.C. Attendees, including federal policymakers and staffers, were given interactive demonstrations of contactless payments technology before a Q+A panel with ETA CEO Jason Oxman and Visa Senior Vice President, Head of Regional Accounts Tom Brooks.

Contactless payments technology allows customers to simply tap a payment terminal with their bankcard or mobile device to complete a transaction. Contactless payments through bankcards and devices like smartphones, smartwatches and other wearable technologies are faster and more secure for consumers and businesses.

The Visa Innovation Station included demonstrations of contactless mobile payments, contactless tap-and-go card payments, cashierless checkout and transit and ticketing applications. After interactive tours led by Visa payments technology experts, attendees learned about the form, function and benefits of contactless payments in the United States.
