ETA Hosts Annual Payments Fly-In

Today in Washington D.C. more than 50 payments and technology executives were part of the ETA Payments Fly-In, meeting with policymakers on Capitol Hill.

ETA Members at the U.S. CapitolExecutives discussed the status of the migration to chip cards, new payments technology, and online small business lending with Members of the Congress, members of the two Congressional Payments Caucuses and federal regulators. Executives focused on how the industry is developing and deploying new technology to provide consumers with safe, fast, and reliable financial services.

Tomorrow, ETA will host our inaugural FinTech Policy Forum, during which industry experts, Members of Congress, and federal and state regulators will discuss how developing technology and public policy can work together on such topics as privacy, data protection, mobile technology, online small business lending, the convergence of traditional and new players, and helping the underserved. Notable speakers include Congressman Patrick McHenry (R-NC), Terrell McSweeny, Commissioner, Federal Trade Commission, Adrienne Harris, Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy, National Economic Council, the White House, and Dan Quan, Senior Advisor to the Director, U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
