ETA is Expanding into Canada

As the voice of the payments technology industry, the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) is the global leader in advocating for a global marketplace that supports the growth and access of payments technology. In a press release, ETA today announced that it will expand its presence in Canada to help drive innovation in the global market for payments technology services.

ETA’s Canadian advocacy and policy initiatives are guided by a committee of ETA member companies, which include Moneris, First Data, Worldpay, Pivotal Payments, Paysafe, Square, and Blake, Cassels & Graydon.

“Across the globe, the payments technology industry enables safe and secure commerce through advancement in products and partnerships,” said ETA CEO Jason Oxman in the press release. “ETA’s expanded efforts in Canada give our members a stronger voice for forward-thinking policy that advances innovation and global partnerships.”

ETA has engaged Canada’s premier public affairs firm, Tactix, to strengthen its advocacy efforts. Today’s announcement builds on the association’s existing programs focused on the future of fintech in Canada. Earlier this year, ETA hosted a policy day in Toronto focused on Canadian fintech policy and the Canadian payments marketplace.

“As the voice of payments, our expanded advocacy efforts in Canada will focus on ensuring that the Canadian public policy environment continues to encourage payments industry growth, innovation and access,” ETA Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Scott Talbott told TranasctionTrends.com.
