ETA Hosts Online Small Business Lending Event on Capitol Hill
As part of our on-going educational efforts, ETA in collaboration with Intuit, OnDeck, and PayPal, hosted a luncheon on Capitol Hill to educate legislative and regulatory staff on online small business lending. The panel, moderated by Scott Talbott, Senior Vice President, Government Affairs, ETA, included Melissa Netram, Senior Public Policy Manager, Inuit, Daniel Gorfine, Vice President for External Affairs, OnDeck, and Darrell Esch, VP, SMB Lending, PayPal.
The standing-room only event, included an overview of this growing industry as well as a more advanced discussion focused on emerging economic, business and policy trends. Panelists outlined the ways in which these online players are pushing innovation within the lending sector. Small business lending has yet to rebound to pre-recession levels and these innovative companies provide SMBs with another avenue to receive much needed capital. Small business lending will be part of ETA’s messages during its D.C. fly-in on Sept 16 and 17th.
