ETA Honors Congressional Payments Leaders at Annual Hill Reception
Last night, ETA hosted its annual reception on Capitol Hill honoring both Congressional Payments Caucuses- the House Congressional Payments Technology Caucus and the Senate Payments Innovation Caucus. The mission of both caucuses is to explore the new and innovative technologies in the payments industry, discuss issues like data security and new technologies, use technology to help the underserved access electronic payments, and help educate lawmakers and staff about the crucial role the payments industry plays in the American economy.
The event attracted almost 200 attendees including ten members of Congress, congressional staffers, and ETA member companies. Several Members of Congress spoke to attendees about the importance of supporting the payments industry which is vital to the American economy. Speakers included Chairman Neugebauer (R-TX), Congressman Bishop (D-GA), Congresswoman Sinema (D-AZ), Congressman Scott (D-GA), and Senator Isakson (R-GA). Other Members of Congress in attendance include Rep. Susan DelBene (D-WA), Rep. Rick Larsen (D-WA), Rep. Robert Pittenger (R-NC), Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA), and Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA).

The House Congressional Payments Technology Caucus is co-chaired by Reps. Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA), David Scott, Randy Neugebauer, and Kyrsten Sinema and the Senate Payments Innovation Caucus is co-chaired by Sen. Johnny Isakson, Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE), Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) and Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI).
