In the past decade, the integration of the latest in technological advancements into the payments industry has led to the rapid development of new payment options. As a result, there are a plethora of payment products available for small-and-medium businesses (SMBs) to adopt. However, which product out of the many is the best fit for an SMB and who can help make that decision?

At this year’s TRANSACT,  this question was explored in “Helping SMBs Get the Right Products and Solutions,” with main stage speakers Pierre-Emmanuel ‘PE’ Perruchot de La Brussière, Vice President of Business Development & Partnerships at Vend, Denada Ramnishta, Vice President of Business Development & Partnerships at Lendio, Keith Sampson, Director of National Sales, North American Bancard, Denise Tahali, Senior Vice President of Agent and Petroleum Sales North America at Paysafe, and Patrick Turian, Director of Marketing, North America at Paysafe as moderator.

The panel discussed the need for payment service providers to act as consultants to guide SMB market growth. “When you are selling to SMBs, you have got to provide them with a great experience,” Brussière says, “look after them like they are your closest friend.”

The panel also talked about how the demographic shift of millennials coming into the work force, and review sites on the Internet affect the way they operate with SMBs. “I think we see a lot of Internet sites where people are expressing their opinions and giving bad reviews,” Tahali says. “and it is our responsibility to address it.”
