Payments in the New Administration

Scott Talbott, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, ETA

These historic elections usher in a new era in Washington.  Republicans will hold the White House and both bodies in Congress.  President-elect Trump will have the opportunity to establish new leadership at the regulatory bodies, and has pledged to reduce and freeze new regulations.

As the payments industry is using technology to develop and deploy new products and services that benefit the American people, strengthen the economy, and make our payments system faster and more secure,  we encourage the incoming Administration to embrace a regulatory environment that fosters these innovations.

The ETA government affairs team will continue to act as the voice of the payments industry in Washington, and will be working with the administration transition team as well as the new members of Congress to get them up to speed on crucial industry issues.

We look forward to working with the President-elect and his team to grow the economy, and continue the leadership of ETA members in in providing fast, secure, and reliable payments.
