The Electronic Transactions Association Wraps TRANSACT 16

Las Vegas, Nevada – The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), the global trade association representing the payments technology world, today closed TRANSACT 16, the premier annual gathering of payments technology professionals at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. TRANSACT gathered 4,000 attendees and 200 exhibitors to explore the next generation of innovative ideas. The experts and panelists featured at the gathering highlighted the latest trends, developments and innovations in payments technology.

TRANSACT 16 Highlights Included:

  • The Payments Pitch-off Competition & E-Pay Innovation Award: A $25,000-award for the Payments Next Zone competitor displaying the most innovative service or product with the promise of increasing electronic transactions access to underserved communities. This year’s winner is Forter, whose fraud prevention system is designed to be consumer-centric, blocking fraud with accuracy and at the same time enabling growth by increasing approvals and ensuring an excellent customer experience.
  • Outstanding keynote speakers from Discover, First Data, PayPal, Square and Verifone highlighting the latest trends, developments and innovations in payments technology.
  • Unlimited industry connectivity with 4000+ payments leaders representing more than 30 countries, all on the 55,000 sf TRANSACT 16 show floor. Specialized show floor areas including the Security Tech Zone, Mobile Payments Zone, Retail Tech Zone, Payments Next Zone, and available private meeting space sharpened focus and maximized effectiveness for attendees.
  • Exciting product announcements including Visa’s Quick Chip for EMV, the Clover Online Store, and the U.S unveiling of Verifone’s Carbon.
  • The release of impactful reports and surveys, including the annual ETA-Goldman Sachs Merchant Acquirer and ISO Survey and the ETA-Strawhecker Economic Indicators Report.
  • ETA announced the opening of a new office, Commerce Labs, in San Francisco to be shared by ETA members The Bancorp Bank and Commerce Ventures.

Next year, TRANSACT 17 will be held May 10-12 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
