VISA Announces QUICK CHIP for EMV at TRANSACT 16

Visa recently announced Quick Chip for EMV at TRANSACT 16– a game changing new technology that allows consumers to remove their card from an EMV terminal in two seconds or less.EMV quick chip addresses a perceived pain point for consumers and merchants alike – the time that chip cards remain in the POS terminal during transaction processing.

In Visa Inc.’s press release on the their TRANSACT announcement, Senior Vice President of Risk Products and Business Intelligence Mark Nelsen said, “Visa is advancing a streamlined approach to chip transactions to make them faster and more efficient, while still providing a safe and secure experience. Quick Chip for EMV helps make the checkout experience comparable to the ease and speed of magnetic stripe transactions.”

Visa Quick Chip for EMV will facilitate faster checkouts and streamline processing. The upgrade is easily downloadable through a merchant’s payment terminal and does not require additional testing if a merchant’s EMV system has already been certified.

In addition to making this big announcement at TRANSACT, Visa will be doing live demos of the technology in their booth on the TRANSACT 16 show floor.
