Families of patients from outside the area may stay close to their family member at The Guest House at McLeod. This special "Home away from Home" is funded entirely by donations to the McLeod Health Foundation and has comforted more than 8,000 guests.

"I'd say that 99% of the people who come through these doors are experiencing their most difficult and vulnerable times," says Diane Stephens, Guest House manager. "I fee very blessed to play this role. To be here to comfort and offer them a haven where they can be close to their loved ones who are ill."

Audrey and Noreen Hall traveled from England to be close to their sister while she was a patient at McLeod. "What a wonderful facility… a welcome home away from home for families of the sick. It would have been very difficult for my sister and me, being so far away from our home. You saved the day."

The room rates for the McLeod Guest House are only $15 per night for the first registered guest and $5 for each additional guest. Families unable to pay are eligible for "scholarships" to fund their stay.
